Fieldstone oversaw a $10 million equity capital raise for Windlab Africa for a 25% stake in their East African wind development platform, with an approximate pipeline of 1,650MW.

Windlab Africa is currently developing 16 renewable projects ranging in status from early-stage projects to the ‘bid-ready’ 100MW first phase of the 300MW Miombo Hewani wind farm in Tanzania, which has been short-listed in a government sponsored off take process. Windlab Africa holds project development assets and the right to projects in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Malawi.

Employing our experience in capital raising for energy transactions, Fieldstone acted as exclusive advisor to the sponsor on this transaction. We endertook financial due diligence and worked with the Sponsor to prepare and/or modify materials to fit the context of this Transaction.

Fieldstone created a list of prospective new investors, in conjunction with the Sponsor, and approached these prospects in a formal capital raise process. We addressed and managed issues raised by prospective investors, set up and attended meetings with management as appropriate, and remained engaged in the effort through to Financial Close, working with counsel and the Sponsor as needed.
